  1. Utilize the excessive width of our streets

By narrowing excessively wide local and arterial streets, creating medians, adding walk/bikeways, etc. can have the effect of traffic calming and can lead to safer, more multi-functional streets. The reclaimed space could be used for many social, economic and artistic opportunities. Sidewalks could be widened and street vendors/food carts/open markets could make efficient use the space. Restaurants and stores may extend business into the street with patio and other kinds of seating or displays and architectural features. Landscaped medians and extended sidewalks provide additional shade and color, crossing/walking/lingering opportunities, as well as lending character and identity. Implications for public art…

  2. UTA is something else I like in SLC, I would add more for customers

There would be bicycle vending that would be part of the UTA, that would allow the bus passes to be readable so to allow a bicycle to be taken and returned. I would put them through out the valleys.

  3. I like that SLC fines persons who abuse animals.

I would create a new program of individuals like the men in black that would go around the neighborhoods that have animals (census taken) and social work for all to be legit and appropriate.

  4. I like that slc recylces, I would change the recycling process by adding more incentive for gaining more recyclers.

Add accepting machines of aluminum and glass to the grocery stores that give money for every item received.

  5. Get rid of all of the non city unionizing (uplifting) businesses.

Having the congress, or house pass a bill to enable the city to regain its power from a bill that bans greed in business. I'll remove all the companies that are surnames and reward them for changing, and punishing those who do not change the names. No more slavery!

Up with ObamaCare...the only way to keep Americans getting better is to incentive the production of unity is to have them know the laws, the regulations and ordinances and be firmly seeking refuge in the law by being obedient to it.

How else do we create a one military World?

  6. I like that SLC county ( i only lived in slc county) is a family oriented atmosphere, I would change for the better more social work.

I would involve the census for collecting opinions via telephone, so to catch or to deal with Utah's terrorist support (drug users/makers).

  7. Be business friendly the people at planning and room 215 are just plain mean people do not want to wait for their projects sometimes months

Be reasonable with people. do not ticket contractors in the city for parking violations every chance you get. Help us improve the city do not make it so no one wants to work down there. Or if we do work we have to pass the huge cost to customer. Just to get a garage built without any special circumstances cost alot just to get approvel. I could understand if the inspectors actually inspected with vigor. However I still see rails that do not meet code windows and house wrap not to code. Roof venting not even addressed. They worry more…

  8. Designer sidewalks

People like myself wish to take pets for walks, however few people realize the heat which emanates from dark pavement can cause blisters on the pads of their pets. Plus, lighter colors exude cheerfulness "overall".

  9. MORE PATROL PRESENCE

Animal control and Police patrol after hours and holidays. Better understanding between the two agencies relative to which agency responds when, why and how - not with a "did you call animal control" or "did you call police" - and most importantly, dispatch knowledge. Situation has improved - but, needs considerable improvement still.

  11. get rid of suburban-ish developments

The city code needs to be changed so that someone can't tear down an attractive old house and replace it with some brown stucco tract home that you'd see in Eagle Mountain. Strip malls, stucco, gargantuan parking lots, all belong in the suburbs, not the city.

  12. Revitalize and Intiate Small Neighborhood Business Areas like 9th and 9th

These small neighborhood are small activity centers to reduce traffic congestion and promote the quality of neighborhood community. Promote small businesses, "ma and pa" shops, and figure out what the neighbors want and need.

  15. extend TRAX platforms to reach from block to block

The 400 s TRAX platforms are annoying, the platforms stretch from block to block, but they have dumb landscaping that prevents you from entering there. For example, if you want to enter the Trolley Square station, you have to walk all the way over to 600 East, even though you could be standing right at 700 East, staring at the end of the platform, but it is blocked off by landscaping, taunting you... and of course, in the time it takes to walk a SLC city block (large), the train comes and goes and you miss it.. Also, I don't…

  16. Find a happy medium with all this "GREEN" movement.

I am all for the city going “GREEN”, but it needs to be better thought out and balanced to avoid loss of “GREEN BACK” “CASH” We have new bike lanes that are being painted all over the roads of Salt Lake City, but what money are these bikes bringing into the city? Do we charge them to ride these special lanes? NO! Do they pay for the stalls in the city where they park? NO! Cars have to pay to park!! All I hear is how Salt Lake is putting in bike lanes for better transit, and parking rates are…

  18. Revitalize 1300 S., Near Ballpark

I know I am dreaming, but . . . if I were loaded, I'd try to draw an MLB team to SLC, expand Spring Mobile BP, which would help to revitalize area.

  19. Open up some space for graffiti and street art around the city

Let folks paint some of the empty (ugly) buildings with murals and art. Allow painting along the trax corridor. Build a graffiti free wall at all the skate parks. Have a contest and select artists to paint all of the utility boxes in the city. Why not encourage art and expression so when you take a walk there is something to see besides advertisements. You could have an art scavenger hunt with a map of free art spots. I would rather see tags all over than look at the ugly Neff floral building on 400 south again. Imagine that building…
